Terms of Sale
The terms that apply when you buy a QiaoDesktop licence — including a refund policy that does not argue.
The short version
You are buying a licence, not a copy of the program: one payment, one computer, no expiry, and every 1.x update included.
If you want your money back, you get it: within 30 days, any reason, no questions asked. And if the app itself is broken and we cannot fix it, the refund has no time limit. If your bank has already opened a chargeback, we will not contest it: the full amount is refunded either way.
One request: write to us before you file a chargeback. A direct refund reaches you in a few business days; a bank dispute takes weeks and costs us a fee we would rather not pay.
1. What you are buying
QiaoDesktop PRO is a lifetime licence for one computer. Paying once unlocks the PRO features marked on our features page; everything not marked PRO is free forever and needs no licence at all. The licence does not expire, and it is not a subscription — there is nothing to cancel and no recurring charge.
2. What the licence covers
You may install and use the app on one computer, identified by the machine code you send us at checkout. You may use it for your own work, including work you are paid for. A second computer requires a re-issue (section 7).
3. Updates included
Every 1.x release is included for the life of the licence: install it and the app updates itself. A future 2.x major version is not covered — if one arrives it will be a separate purchase, and 1.x will keep working whether or not you upgrade.
4. Price, payment and tax
The price is the one shown on the checkout page at the moment you pay: US$14.99 during the launch period, US$19.99 afterwards. Prices are in US dollars. Payment is handled by Stripe on Stripe’s own checkout page; we never see or store your card number. Sales tax, VAT and GST are calculated and collected by Stripe acting as merchant of record, so the amount shown at checkout already includes whatever applies in your billing country.
5. Refunds
Changed your mind, or it is not what you expected — 30 days. Within 30 days of purchase you can have the full amount back, for any reason at all. We do not ask why, there is no form to fill in, and taking a refund does not stop you from buying again later.
Something is broken — no time limit. If the app will not run properly, or activation fails and we cannot fix it, you get the full amount back no matter how long ago you bought it. The 30 days does not apply to this.
How to ask. Email contact@qiaodesktop.com with your order number. The money goes back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. You do not have to uninstall the app first.
After a refund the licence ends: please stop using the PRO features, or simply keep using the app in its free version — the basic organizing features are free forever and never needed a licence.
Your statutory rights come first. If the law where you live gives you stronger rights than this section — for example the EU legal guarantee, the UK Consumer Rights Act, or the Australian Consumer Law — those rights apply in full, and nothing here reduces them.
6. Chargebacks and disputes
If a chargeback is filed, we accept it rather than contest it: the full amount goes back to you through your bank, and we do not submit evidence or argue the claim. We ask only that you contact us first where you can — a refund is faster for you and avoids a dispute fee for us.
7. Re-issuing your licence
The licence binds to one computer. If you change computers we re-issue it free of charge: at most once in any 12-month period, at most three times in total, and within 36 months of the purchase date. Write from the email address used for the order — that is how we confirm the licence is yours. Re-installing on the same computer is never a re-issue.
8. Trial
The app runs in full PRO mode for 15 days from first launch, with no account and no payment details. When the trial ends, the advanced features lock and the basic organising tools keep working — free, permanently, without a licence.
9. What you may not do
You may not resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the licence or the installer; publish or share your activation code; or remove, bypass or alter the licence check. Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent the law says it cannot be excluded.
10. No warranty, and the limit of our liability
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of defects or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for lost data or lost profits. Keep your own backups — the app writes dated config backups, but that is a convenience, not a guarantee. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.
11. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The version in force when you bought your licence is the one that applies to that purchase.
